Nightlife in Dubai

In the contemporary Dubai, nightlife is vibrant with several evening alternatives depending on what visitors like. The cosmopolitan city is plenty of coffees visited mainly by expatriates, sophisticated bars, relaxed pubs, discotheques and night clubs. Other entertainment options include also cinemas, shopping, dhow cruises, concerts, and outdoor beach parties.
Within the broad range of night centers, the majority and the best are located at hotels. Because of there aren't specific nightlife districts; they are situated throughout the city. The nightlife usually starts at 9 or 10 pm and lasts until the small hours. A great thing about Dubai is that crime is practically unheard of, so visitors are safe getting a taxi or walking back to their lodging at any time.
Dubai’s nightlife is growing and attracts a lively and multicultural crowd. Modern bars and nightclubs are designed as a Western-style scene. More renowned DJs and international jazz and piano performers are arriving to the emirate, while discos usually offer different kinds of music during the course of a night.
Even though Dubai has an excellent nightlife, it is important to know the limitations, as there are strict laws in the emirate.
- Liquor is not freely accessible in Dubai due to religious reasons. Most of the bars that can serve alcohol are just in hotels, but there are a few exceptions. The legal drinking age is 21.
- Dubai's clubs and discos must close at 3 am. Visitors have to be at least 25 to enter a nightclub.
- Dress codes for bars are often relaxed, however some places insist on no “inappropriate” clothing that may include jeans, trainers and sandals.

Recommendations
- Alcohol is very expensive, particularly in nightclubs and in hotels. A good alternative is to buy liquor from the Duty Free shop at the Dubai Airport.
- Thursday and Saturday are the best nights for going out, while on Mondays, the majority of night centers are closed.
- Happy hours are common. Tuesdays and Sundays are “Ladies Night” at various places, with women receiving free drinks.
